Here
Why are you here?
Confined by the expectations of society
Rejecting every notion of beauty and freedom
And accepting every notion of inferiority and inadequacy.
You build fences to separate what is, from what could be
Never letting a single blade of grass cross that threshold
You renounce all claims of deception
“I’m only being myself,” you say.
“I’m not hiding anything,” you say.
And everyone believes it
Everyone but you.
Because you know why you’re here.
You’re not here because you like it.
You don’t.
You’re not here because you’re comfortable with it.
You’re not.
You’re here because you’re afraid.
Afraid of failure
Afraid of disappointment
Afraid of disaster.
But there is beauty in the breakdown.
And only those who struggle,
Learn to soar
You were born to cross that fence.
So why are you here?
